Ambuluwawa - A gift from Nature
Overview Ambuluwawa is a moutainn close to Gampola is considered to be hot bed of biological diversity. Though being close to Gampola one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka this huge mountain facing Gampola is not an archaeologically important site. But today Ambuluwawa stands as a tourist attraction in a league of its own. Ambuluwawa mountain which is clearly visible from Gampola city stands up to a height of 3667 ft from mean sea level. Ambuluwawa mountain is covered with lush green forests and is blessed with a cool climate and thick mists. Reaching the top of Ambuluwawa is bit challenging because the path is very steep and only small vehicles can make it to the top yet walking would be wonderful experience if you are not in a position to bring your vehicle to the top. Even you can find Threewheelers to facilitate your journey. Anyhow you will be able to experience a beautiful forest on both sides of the road plus beautiful scenery of Gampola city.
