Hulangala Mini World's End

Situated between the districts Mathale and Kurunegala Hulangala Mini World's end marks the border between North Western and Central Provinces. With a easy hike or even being accessible by bikes and off road vehicles the place gives you excellent panoramic views. Hulangala view point is famous for camping has basic amnesties for camping.  How to reach Reaching the place is relatively eazy, simply take the Selagama Road at Yatawatta Junction from Thalagodapitiya - Yatawatta - Dombawela Road and turn left to Selagama Estate after traveling about 2 km on Selagama Road. Nelligala International Buddhist Centre

Nelligala International Buddhist Centre is a recently constructed Buddhist Temple in Nelligala mountain in Kandy District. Construction of the Temple premises was started in 2015. This place houses sacred relics of Buddha and is easily accessible by vehicles due to well maintained road to the summit. Temple premises also has ample parking for visitors. Summit offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains of the hill country like Hanatana Mountain Range, Alagalla Mountain, Batalegala and Sri Pada Mountain. Balana Fortress Sri Lanka has been under various colonial powers namely Portuguese, Dutch and the English but both Portuguese and Dutch were unable to conquer the whole Island. In the centre of the Island Kandyan Kingdom survived as an Independent Kingdom. Kandyans kept their independence due to their fierce fighting styles and the strategic location of the kingdom. Kandyans used the strategic location as a protective measure and the Alagalla Mount range was such a strategic location.  This marked a natural boundary between Kandy and Colombo and Kadugannawa pass was the only place that allowed an army to enter the Kandyan Kingdom.  Many fierce battles has taken place over this pass. Kandyan kings established a Fortress to guard this pass known as Balana Fortress. Udawaththa Kele - An Oasis in a Crowded City

Udawaththa Kele is a forest reserve situated close to Kandy city and has a forest cover of 257 Acres. The forest was earlier used for the entertainment of the royals during the Kandyan era and today acts as a catchment area for the Kandy Lake and also acts as natural habitat for various wild animals like Monkeys , Wild boars, Deers, Birds and Snakes.  Many Buddhist shrines are situated in the forest and similarly a cave considered to be the dwelling of the hermit Senkada who is connected with the legend of the Kandy city is situated in the forest. Lake inside the forest is believed to be used by the royals for bathing.  You can simply reach this place by using the Sri Dalada Thapowana Vihara Road from Kandy A9 road in front of Hills Street.  You have to purchase tickets to enter the place and the ticket includes a map which will help you to find the way.
